A heartbreaking encounter unfolded on the road when volunteers spotted a truck transporting dogs to a meat restaurant. Among the tragic scenes, one dog was tightly bound, its mouth sealed, unable to call for help. The rescuers couldn’t ignore its desperate eyes and decided to intervene, convincing the dealer to sell the dog at more than market value.

As the volunteers untied the poor animal, they found deep strangle marks around its mouth, evidence of the cruel treatment it had endured. Despite its fear, the dog was gently freed from its restraints. Although still traumatized, the dog—later named Rhubarb—began to regain trust. Another dog, Xiao Hei, initially too frightened to eat, also started to recover under the compassionate care of the volunteers.

This emotional rescue highlights the horrific conditions many dogs face in the meat trade, but it also shines a light on the difference that caring individuals can make. Rhubarb and Xiao Hei now have a chance at a new life, filled with hope and love.
