Today is my birthday, a day that should be filled with joy and celebration. Yet, I can’t shake this feeling of loneliness. As I reflect on the years gone by, I realize that my self-image has often overshadowed the joy of this day. I know I might not fit the conventional standards of beauty, and it seems that because of this, I’ve often been overlooked or forgotten by others.

It’s a strange feeling to wait for birthday wishes that never come, to hope for a small acknowledgment from friends and family that seems to slip away like sand through my fingers. But today, I’m choosing to change my perspective.

Instead of focusing on what I lack, I’m embracing who I am—flaws and all. I’m thankful for the experiences, the lessons learned, and the resilience I’ve built. Maybe, just maybe, I’ll find happiness in celebrating myself, even if it’s in solitude.

So here’s to me! May this year bring growth, love, and a newfound appreciation for my unique self. Happy birthday to me!
