While walking down the road, I encountered a stray dog in dire condition. His swollen eyes and bleeding wounds revealed the terrible beating he endured. When I called out, he hesitated, but then followed me closely, as if sensing a lifeline. Despite his fear, his loyalty was touching.

I brought him home, but he was too timid to enter. His tail tucked between his legs, he could only drink water due to his severely injured mouth. I took him to the vet, where they confirmed the extent of his trauma: a broken jaw and a severely infected eye, which needed immediate removal.
