Jaguar Cubs Born After 8 Years at Kobe’s Oji Zoo – Help Name Them!

It’s an exciting time at Kobe’s Oji Zoo! On August 18th, after an 8-year wait, a pair of twin jaguar cubs, one male and one female, were born. These beautiful creatures, known for their striking appearance and powerful presence, are classified as Near Threatened and typically inhabit the tropical rainforests of Central and South America.

The newborn cubs take after their father, Atos, with their dark coats. While most jaguars have a yellowish-brown coat adorned with black rosettes, some, like these twins, have a solid black coat.

To ensure the cubs grow strong and healthy, the zoo has temporarily kept them and their mother out of public view. However, Oji Zoo assures that both cubs are thriving. Once they’re ready to be introduced to the world, the zoo plans to hold a public naming contest for these precious new arrivals. Stay tuned for more updates and get ready to cast your vote for their names!
